‘IMMINENT CRASH’ is my first-ever black-and-white painting—a departure from my usual style, but one I always wanted to try. It’s also the largest piece I’ve created to date, both in scale and in detail.

The work is filled with elements of traditional and modern Japanese culture—some hidden in plain sight, others tucked away like secrets. Japan is a country I’ve long dreamed of visiting, and this piece serves as a personal tribute to its rich contrasts.

‘IMMINENT CRASH’ reflects the duality of Japan: the overwhelming energy and chaos of its urban life versus the serenity and mindfulness found in its traditions and natural spaces. It’s a visual exploration of balance—between movement and stillness, noise and calm.
